Welcome  to  the  website  of the

BRITISH  GLIDER  AEROBATIC  TEAM

A group of U.K glider pilots who compete at National and International
competitions at Unlimited and Advanced levels.

Latest updates
Maz Makari and Paul Conran have been selected to represent the UK at the World Championships in Poland.  They are both busy practicing at Saltby in the run up to the Nationals (2nd - 5th June) before heading off to Europe for a series of training camps and foreign National Championships before competing in the Worlds.

The Bicester Beginners/Sports/Intermediate competition 13/15th May has been postponed.  It is now hoped that it will happen during August.

Good progress was made over the weekend 7th-10th April with perfect weather for aerobatic practice at Saltby.  Maz, DJ and Paul got to grips with the Unlimited programs and Lionel Sole, veteran of many previous World Championships, flew stunningly at Intermediate.  The Swift and Fox were both pressed into service and I don't think the tuggies got a break until they had to refuel.  Thanks as usual to Buckminster GC for their hospitality and forbearance.

The UK National Glider Aerobatic Championships are being held between June 2nd and 5th at Saltby Airfield, look here for the details.  Spectators are welcome to come along and watch the team in action.

The International Teams for this years World Championships in Poland at both Advanced and Unlimited have yet to be decided.

The Team flies a number of different aerobatic gliders including the Fox and Swift, shown at the top of this page, and the Lunak, a wooden glider originally intended to help train Mig Pilots.

Aerobatics in Gliders and Power Aircraft are regulated     worldwide by  CIVA which is part of the FAI ,
and in the UK by the British Aerobatic Association
