2011.  We are now into late February and bad weather has prevented us getting an early start.
The Team has also been adversely affected by a number of other factors, not least Mike Newman's temporary retirement due to a back injury.  Graham Saw's much loved Lunak has a question mark over it as the BGA struggle to accept it's suitability for Aerobatics.  Alex Haddad is unsure of his future posting with the USAAF.  Of the remaining five pilots from the 2010 team four seem likely to compete as things stand at the moment.

see here for more information.

Come and watch, have a chat and learn all about aerobatics in gliders.

Planning continues

Everyone now starting to realize there is surprisingly little time left!.
The route to get the gliders to Finland has been all worked out by our Master Navigator (Graham Saw) and all the ferries required to get the Fox an Lunak across the intervening bits of water have been booked.

Practicing continues and there is a BBC reporter coming to meet/film the team at Bicester this weekend. Hopefully lots of interesting TV time and maybe raise the profile of Glider Aerobatics a bit.

This is where we are going, a long way from home.

Next big event on the Horizon is the UK Nationals, which will be a good chance to work out the last of any problems with Free programs and a final bit of practice under competition conditions, although of course at the Nationals all the pilots will be aiming to beat each other rather than working as a team to beat the rest of the world!

26 April 2010
The final list of team members who will be competing in Finland was decided on 26 April by Alan Cassidy the chairman of the BAEA.
The team is now all ready to go, all we need to work out is how to get there and how to get in lots of practice around the UK weather.
